P-TECH School Design
1.1 STUDENT COST
There is no cost to the student or their family. All tuition, books, and fees are paid for by PVACC while the student is enrolled in P-TECH.
1.2 SCHOOL LOCATION
PVACC P-TECH students will take all courses on campus their freshman year. Beginning their sophomore year, students will be taking classes through dual enrollment at Del Mar College.
1.3 STUDENT COHORTS
P-TECH students are placed in a cohort for core classes to the extent possible, although this does not exclude non P-TECH students from enrolling in the same class.
1.4 FLEXIBLE SCHEDULING
The P-TECH program provides flexible, individualized scheduling that allows students to earn their high school diploma in addition to the opportunity to earn up to 60 credit hours along with industry-based certifications for their selected career pathway.
1.5 TSIA TESTING SITE
PVACC is a Texas Success Initiative Assessment (TSIA) assessment site and will provide opportunities throughout the year for students to take the TSIA assessment.
